Obituary

Jacqueline E. Robison, 74, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with Rev. Scott Milsam, pastor of the Family of Faith Center in Nevada, officiating. Music will be provided by Kevin and Jennifer McAlexander and Lori Milsam. Casket Bearers will be Steve Caylor, Brent Jackman, Travis Muckler, Isaiah McAlexander, Kevin McAlexander and Jim White. Interment will be at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. The family will be present at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Epilepsy Foundation and sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112. Jackie was born on September 25, 1938 in Des Moines, Iowa to Claire and Doris Caylor Robison. She was raised on the family farm west of Grinnell and attended rural school. She grew up on the family farm and following the death of her father she moved to Des Moines with her mother and sister. She returned to Grinnell following the death of her mother and resided with her sister and brother-in-law, Lyle and Saundra Muckler. Later, she moved to Cedar Rapids and lived with her younger sister and brother-in-law, Lynda and Fay Jackman. She was a member of the Noelridge Christian Church and the New Beginnings Christian Church. She enjoyed attending the Milestones Daycare Center in both Cedar Rapids and Marion. Jackie loved socializing with family and friends and she possessed an infectious laugh. She had fun debating politics with her brother-in-law, Fay. Jackie loved music and could remember the words to every song she ever heard, especially the hymns. Survivors include her sister, Lynda (Fay "Jack") Jackman of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Lyle Muckler of Grinnell; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Saundra Muckler; and her uncle, Willard Robison.
