Evelyn was born on April 16th 1928 at the homestead of Iowa County and the township of Lincoln to Louis Charles and Lucille Moore Blomme. She was raised and educated in Victor , Iowa where she was a 1945 graduate of St John's Catholic School .
Evelyn was married to Edward R. Saey on August 6, 1946, in St Bridget Church of Victor, Iowa and the couple farmed north of Victor for several years.
Evelyn enjoyed her music and she learned to play at age 10 and never gave it up. She was able to play the steel guitar and the accordion and she would also sing and whistle to the song of choice. She played with her childhood friend, Evelyn Misel. They were better known as the 'Singing Evelyn's' and they played for several elder care centers as well as a few gatherings when requested, she loved to see the people clapping of hands and tapping their feet to the music. Her other loves were singing in church choirs, volunteering, crafts and reading. Evelyn was the most selfless person anyone could have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She was loved by all that ever met her and will never be forgotten.
Evelyn was very much involved with her family, it was important for her to stay in touch with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild and her siblings and their families as well as her long time friends.
Evelyn is survived by her children: Jean Saey of Minnesota , Janet (Lou) Daigle of Canada, Daniel Saey of Iowa, Dena (Karl) Hug of Nevada, Barbie Sukkari of Utah, Billy (Heather) Davis of Texas; one brother, Harold Blomme of Colorado; and one sister, Joanne Landuyt of Iowa; 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 expecting great grandchildren; one great great grandchild along with many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn had many life-long friends and will be greatly miss by family, friends and neighbors.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Joyce E. Saey; and one brother, Raymond Blomme.
