Dwight David Eisenhower Triplett was born on March 23, 1953, at St. Francis Hospital in Grinnell to Rolland LaVern Triplett and Arlene Mae (Church) Triplett. He was raised and educated in Searsboro.
He honorably served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea, Germany, Panama and stateside at Fort Riley, Kansas. He received his General Education Degree while serving in the military.
Following his military service, he began his lifelong career of 35 years working at Manatts as a dispatcher. Dwight's family was his life. He loved to spoil his grandchildren and cherished his time with them. Dwight will be remembered for his fun-loving sense of humor, his strong work ethic, and his willingness to help others. He enjoyed traveling, telling dirty jokes, watching NASCAR races and cheering on his favorite driver Mark Martin. He loved going for rides in his 1966 Chevy Chevelle, he named "Killer," which he was proud to say was the second Chevelle rolled off the line that year, and the companionship of his dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Venisa Anderson of Searsboro; son, Jason (Melissa) Anderson of Pella, Iowa; two daughters, Danielle Triplett of Grinnell and Carla Triplett of Sully, Iowa; seven grandchildren; mother, Arlene Mae Triplett of Tama; and three sisters, Judy Triplett of Grinnell, Rita (Mark) Matteson of Tama, Iowa, and Christina (Kevin) Rhodes of Toledo, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father.
