She was born on July 8, 1917, near Malcom, Iowa to Elmer and Myrtle Broders Baustian. She was raised on the family farm, attended rural school and graduated from Grinnell High School with the Class of 1934.
In August of 1937, she was married to Harry Armstrong in Des Moines, Iowa. The couple lived in Grinnell and later moved to Warren, Illinois. Following the death of her husband in June of 1960 she moved to Moline, Illinois. She was employed for the John Deere Insurance as a coordinator in Moline for many years. She was later married to Russel Lindsey and the couple continued to live in Moline. For the past few years she has resided at the Illini Restorative Care Center in Silvis.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Ruth Armstrong of Venice, Florida; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Higdon of Grinnell.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands; her parents; one sister, Lola Sears; and one brother, Donald Baustian.
