Bruce Andrew Hannah was born on December 10, 1960 in Hampton, Iowa to Richard Eldon Hannah and LaDonna Lee (Harkema) Hannah. He was raised in Hansell, Iowa until the family moved to Kellogg, Iowa in 1973. Bruce graduated from Newton High School with the class of 1979.

On August 17, 1984, Bruce was united in marriage to Shelly Burnham at his parent’s home at Rock Creek Lake near Kellogg, Iowa. The couple lived in Kellogg and Grinnell all of their married lives. Bruce worked in construction most of his life and had also worked at Manatts, Nagel Farms, Bisom Trucking, Z-Line, and IBEW.

Bruce was a family man and a friend to many. His enjoyments were going on motorcycle rides, working in his shop, and being with his friends and family. He will be remembered as being spontaneous, fun-loving, a hard worker, stubborn, and someone who was incredibly strong in his fight with cancer.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shelly Hannah of Grinnell; his children, Kendra Cupples of Newton, Kari Hannah of Grinnell, Jacob (Zen) Hannah of Grinnell, and Jamie (Jake) Dunsbergen of Grinnell; 5 grandchildren; and his sister, Lynne (Greig) Shine of Kellogg. He was preceded in death by his parents.
