Blanche was born on June 4, 1909, in Hartford Township, Iowa County, Iowa to Henry and Rosa Bair Smith. She was raised in Victor and graduated from Victor High School in 1927. She also attended the University of Commerce in Des Moines. On August 13, 1937, she was married to Peter N. Peterson in South Dakota. The couple lived in Victor and she worked as a legal secretary and homemaker. Her hobbies included traveling, playing bridge, fishing and raising roses in her garden. There are no immediate survivors. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Boyd and Harvey Smith; and one sister, Mabel Smith.
