William (Bill) Howard Windsor, 75, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015. He was born on February 6, 1940 in Humeston, IA to Howard and Mona (Jones) Windsor. Bill grew up in Humeston, IA. The family moved to Grinnell in1955 where he graduated from Grinnell High School in 1957. After high school, he went to work for Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, while working there he took classes at Drake University and the University of Iowa, and completed his schooling at the Milwaukee College of Mortuary Science. Bill later worked for The Champion Company, Montgomery and Steward Funeral Home, Pueblo, CO; Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge, KS and Murdock Funeral Home in Columbus KS before retiring in 2002. While working at Murdock Funeral Home, he met the love of his life Shirley Hendrick, and they have been together for 13 years. Bill enjoyed retirement. He and Shirley spent time baking cakes, playing cards, working crosswords and traveling with friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Mona Windsor, his sisters Barb Keller and Shirley Roe, brother-in-law Darrell Keller and a niece Linda Roe. Bill is survived by his wife Shirley, step children Shaunda (David) Ross; Daunna Hart; Dale Hart; grandchildren; Quinna (Brandon) Hare, Quinten Hart; his sister Rosey Mathews of Grinnell, IA, his loving nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous other relatives.
