Beatrice 'Becky' Kay Anderson, 67, of Grass Valley, California and formerly of Los Angeles, died November 6, 2007, in Grass Valley.
A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell with the Rev. Len Eberhart, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Beatrice K. Anderson Memorial Fund.
The daughter of Vernon 'Cap' and Maxine Rollins Anderson, she was born June 24, 1940, in Grinnell. As an infant her family moved to Los Angeles where she was raised and educated.
Following high school, she was employed with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. She retired in 2003, after 38 years there, as a department head and moved to Grass Valley.
Becky enjoyed visiting her relatives in Iowa. She would travel to Iowa quite frequently as a child and this continued throughout her adult life.
She is survived by several aunts and uncles including, Juanita and Paul Ahrens of Grinnell, June and Paul Gregory of Altoona, and Naomi De Hart and Alice Anderson, both of Kellogg; and several cousins including Clyde French of Keller, Texas, Jill Hulse of Cedar Falls, Larry Hulse of Des Moines, and Marc Hulse of Marshalltown. She was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles.
