Ann Bair, 57, of Grinnell, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center. A celebration of her life will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Victor. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell from 2 – 8 p.m., on Monday, June 23, 2014, with the family present from 5 – 8 p.m., Monday evening. Memorials may be directed to PALS and sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112. Ann was born on January 5, 1957, to Paul and Genevieve (Hamelburg) Miller in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Her family later moved to Victor and she attended school there prior to moving to Grinnell in 1974. She graduated from Grinnell High School in 1976. On June 12, 1976, she was united in marriage to Ronald Bair, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Victor. The couple made their home in Grinnell and she helped with babysitting duties at the Grinnell United Methodist Church. Ann was an avid Elvis fan and her last travel adventure was to Graceland with her friends. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting doilies for everyone. Ann was a kind spirit and was always thinking of others. She loved and cared for animals. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ron Bair of Grinnell; two sons, Ron Bair, Jr. of Des Moines and Mike Bair of Grinnell; one grandson, Andrew Bair of Grinnell; one sister, Liz (Rob) Yelenick of Grinnell; several in-laws and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
