Molly was born on February 24, 1924, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the daughter of Jack and Olive May White Coulter. She moved with her family when she was a baby to Vancouver, British Columbia and lived there for several years before returning to Northern Ireland where she grew up and attended school.

Molly was employed at a local grocery store for several years in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

On October 22, 1947, she was united in marriage with Samuel McNaul, in County Antrim, after meeting him at a dance in 1946. The couple lived near Belfast prior to moving to Brooklyn, Iowa in 1952. Molly was employed at Amana Refrigeration for several years and had a child daycare service in her home for 22 years. The couple moved to Seeland Park in Grinnell in 1996.

Molly enjoyed people and never knew a stranger! She held a keen sense of humor and loved to have fun. She enjoyed telling stories about her life in Northern Ireland and held a knack for keeping people’s interest when she would. She was very proud of her Irish heritage, but equally proud of becoming a United States citizen. Her and her husband worked very hard for everything they had. She knew the value of hard work! She loved knitting sweaters for small children, attending dances, and playing cards with her friendly neighbors. She also loved the color red and nature, especially flowers, birds and butterflies.

Survivors include her children, Anna “May” (Jerry) Renaud of Ankeny, Samuel “Jim” (Kathy) McNaul of Blaine, Minnesota, Arthur (Cindy) McNaul of Des Moines, and Beth (Troy) Meldrem of Brooklyn; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam in 2011; and a great-grandson, Alex Slaymaker.
