Kenneth Lee Scull was born the son of Louis Scull, Jr. and Martina (Hanson) Scull on January 27, 1940 in Lynnville, Iowa. He lived in Lynnville most of his life.

Ken was united in marriage to Darlene Cook on June 29, 1963 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They were blessed with five children, Gregory, Kristine, LeAnn, and the twins Stephanie and Steven. Ken worked as a mason for Guerts and Schmidts Construction in Sully. In later years he worked as a finish painter at Parson’s Mfg. in Newton. He also worked at Farm Hand and retired from Iowa Telecom in Grinnell. He was a member of the Lynnville Friends Church.

Ken’s family was his life and he always worked hard to provide for them. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to races in Knoxville Raceway. In the fall Ken enjoyed coon hunting and sold his coon pelts to provide Christmas gifts for his children. He will be remembered for the love of his family, for his kind, caring, selfless way, and his love of telling stories.

Ken is survived by his wife of 55 years, Darlene Scull of Lynnville; five children, Gregory (Jane) Scull of Anniston, Alabama, Kristine Potter of Marlboro, Massachusetts, LeAnn (Dana) Pederson of Grinnell, Stephanie Wilson of Grinnell, and Steven Scull of Lynnville; 8 grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emily Scull, Jacklyn Potter, Samantha and Katherine Pederson, Tyler and Linsey Wilson, and Jason (Jordan) Scull; and one great grandchild, Timber Scull. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Randy Scull; and a sister, Norma Blair.
