Faye was born on June 18, 1918, in Jasper County, near Kellogg, the daughter of William Franklin and Arrissia Ellen Cooper Stuart. She was raised in the area and was a 1936 graduate of Grinnell High School.

On April 23, 1939, she was united in marriage with Donald Ellsworth Vogt in Lancaster, Missouri. The couple farmed all their lives in Chester Township, north of Grinnell. She was a farmwife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

Faye enjoyed her family and hosted many family gatherings in her home. Her home was always a welcome place! She was active in her community and church. She was a member of the Chester Church; the Chester Women’s Fellowship and taught Sunday school. She was also a leader for Chester Stars 4-H, and a member of the Chester Friendly Folks and Lady Elks. Faye was a strong servant and a good steward of the land. She and Don farmed together for 60 years! She was an avid gardener and canned the fruits of her labor up until the end. Music was very important to her and she especially enjoyed singing along with her four daughters. She loved the Big Band music and dancing.

Faye is survived by her children, Linda K. Hatch of Grinnell, Donna J. (Larry) Overmiller of Haysville, Kansas, Marsha J. (Gary) Wilson of Grinnell and Brenda K. (John) Cornett of Jewel, Kansas; six grandchildren, Tena Overmiller Luongo (Keith) of Wichita, Kansas, Amy Overmiller Mekhail (Emad) of Wichita, Gregory Wilson of Grinnell, Emily Wilson Cooper (Jason) of Firth, Nebraska, Jennifer Cates Eitzman (Mike) of Concordia, Kansas and Ryan Cates (Ashton) of Jewel, Kansas; and 17 great-grandchildren.
