In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Mrs. Hulsebus’ name, and contributions may be sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.

Helen Kathryn Grosenbach was born October 15, 1913, on a farm near Chatsworth, Illinois. She graduated from East Peoria High School in 1931, and married Glenn Hulsebus on June 21, 1942 in Peoria, Illinois. Together they served Presbyterian Churches from 1942 to 1998 in Red Oak, Maxwell, Schaller, Brooklyn, Fort Dodge, Barnum and Ewart.

Helen was a member of Tri-C, P.E.O. and Presbyterian Women and was honored by the Presbytery of Des Moines for her many years of devotion, service and encouragement to women in seven Iowa churches. She was a wonderful hostess, cook and baker, sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School, sewed for the girls, kept the family supplied with scrubbies she crocheted and was also a Girl Scout leader and camp counselor for many years.

Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Dick) Richman of Ames, Iowa, Kathleen (Jack) Ramsey of Unionville, Missouri, and JoAnn Thompson of Cary, Illinois; her son, Steven (Kathy) Hulsebus of Fort Dodge, Iowa; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; her brother, Kenneth (Bev) Grosenbach of Washington, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Laura Grosenbach; her husband, Glenn; her brother, LeRoy Grosenbach; and her sister, Phyllis Lacey.
