Roma Dobbins, 87, of Grinnell died May 24, 2010, at Mayflower Community Health Care Center.
A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 27, in the garden terrace of the Mayflower Community.
Burial will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Mayflower Community.

Roma was born November 28, 1922, in Barnard, Missouri, the daughter of Ernest and Rosena Flanagan Walden. She was a graduate of Horace Mann High School in Maryville, Missouri. |
On December 20, 1941, she was married to Edward R. Dobbins, in Maryville. The couple farmed on the family farm near Barnard for many years and later moved to Grinnell in 1996. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Maryville and the Rosanna Chapter #262 Order of Eastern Star in Maryville.

Roma enjoyed her life on the farm and took great pride in their farming practices. She held a playful, youthful personality throughout her life and was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and loved to play cards. |
Survivors include two children, Linda (Robert) Knierim of Grinnell and Raymond Dobbins of Phnom Penh, Cambodia; five grandchildren, Steve (Ann) Knierim of Cedar Rapids, Stephani (Kevin) Johnson of West Des Moines, Angela (Andrew) Flowers of Downers Grove, Illinois, Tara May of Jackson Mississippi, and Lana Dobbins of Phnom Penh; and six great-grandchildren, Gus and Max Johnson, Tyler and Caitlin Knierim, and Ryan and Dylan Flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1997; and four brothers and sisters |
