Jack was born on August 5, 1948, in Grinnell, Iowa, to Glen and Neola Hudson Douglas. He was raised in Gilman, Brooklyn and Grinnell. He attended public schools and graduated from Grinnell High School. Following his education he worked for Saunder’s D-X Station. In 1977, he began his career as a custodian in the Grinnell-Newburg School System and worked at the Middle School.

He was a member of the Grinnell Elks Lodge and the Grinnell Eagles Lodge. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, cooking and camping. He was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

Survivors include his two brothers, Robbie Douglas of Grinnell and Sam (Donna) Keup of Danville, IL; one nephew, Michael (Chanda) Keup; two nieces, Annette Baxter and Sarah (Yancy) Trovar; and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
