Margaret was born on March 24, 1914, in Grinnell, Iowa, to James and Florence Godfrey Marsden. She was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School with the Class of 1932. After her education she worked as a secretary in the Grinnell School System for superintendents, Rupert Hawk and Burton Holmes. In 1953, she joined Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company and worked as an administrative assistant in marketing. She retired in 1982 and continued to make her home in Grinnell.

She was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge #119 of Grinnell and attended the First Baptist Church of Grinnell and the Grinnell United Methodist Church.

Margaret is survived by her nephew, Robert (Jane) Marsden of East Point, Michigan; and other nieces and nephews.
|
Margaret died on Monday, April 19, 2010, at the Mayflower Health Care Center in Grinnell, Iowa. She was 96 years of age and she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Edna Kirstein; and two brothers, Frank and Ernest Marsden.
