Paul was born on March 31, 1924, in Sheridan Township, northeast of Grinnell, Iowa to Orville and Helen Jones Pedersen. He was raised on the family farm and attended Sheridan #9 School. In 1941 he graduated from Grinnell High School and later attended Grinnell College for a brief time. On November 14, 1948, he was married to Edna Biggs at the Trinity Lutheran Church near Grinnell. The couple farmed southwest of Grinnell and were the parents of three children, Perre, Kyle and Neeva. Following the death of his wife in 1963, he was married to Dorothy Houston in 1967 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church. The couple lived in Grinnell and he worked as the Farm Director for KGRN. He also worked as an area manager for the DeKalb Seed Corn Company until his retirement in the mid 1980s. Dorothy and Paul moved to Tomah, Wisconsin in 2000 and following her death in 2003 he returned to Grinnell. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Grinnell and was active in the FFA and 4-H. He had also served on the Grinnell-Newburg School Board. Survivors include his children, Perre Pedersen and Kyle Pedersen, both of Grinnell, Neeva Pedersen of Denver, Colorado and Clyde Houston of Tomah, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter, one sister, Ruth Romani of San Jose, California; and many friends at St. Francis Manor. He was preceded in death by his parents; both of his wives; one son, Wayne Houston; and one brother, Karl Pedersen.
